Jack Linzhou XING has obtained his MPhil Degree in Anthropology and STS at the University of Hong Kong in 2019. His MPhil thesis proposes an analysis of the impact of new e-hailing technologies and companies like Didi Chuxing on the lives of professional taxi drivers in urban China. He is currently developing a new project on work, precarity and ethics in the Chinese digital platform economy. He is interested in questions of work automation, sharing economy, and conventional occupation groups, as well as the study of everyday technologies.
