André Saramago is Assistant Professor of International Relations at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra, integrated researcher at the Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra, in the thematic line ‘(Semi)peripheral Capitalism: Crises and alternatives’, and guest researcher at the Orient Institute, University of Lisbon, in the thematic line ‘Southeast and South Asia’. He holds a PhD from Aberystwyth University, and Master and Bachelor degrees from the University of Lisbon. He teaches in the Bachelor in International Relations, in the Master in Peace Studies, Security and Development and in the Doctoral Programme in International Relations – International Politics and Conflict Resolution. His current research interests are in the fields of critical international theory, process sociology, environmental politics and East Asia studies.
